1. About This Policy

Estravo Compendium is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body. This Privacy Policy describes how Estravo Compendium (“we”, “our”, “the publication”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you visit estravo.info or contact us via the channels provided on this site.

By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with the terms set out here, please discontinue use of the site.

This policy is written in accordance with applicable Indonesian personal data protection regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 of 2022).

2. Data We Collect

We collect personal data in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically through your use of the site.

2.1 Data You Provide

When you submit the contact form on this site, we collect the following data: your name, your email address, an optional subject category, and the content of your message. We do not request or store identity numbers, postal addresses, payment details, or sensitive personal data through the contact form.

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

When you visit estravo.info, certain data is collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure and analytics tools. This includes: your IP address (pseudonymised where possible), browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate geographic location derived from IP address. This data is used solely for aggregate traffic analysis and editorial content planning.

2.3 Cookies

This site uses cookies to measure reading patterns and manage consent preferences. A full description of the cookies we use, their purpose, and how to manage them is available in our Cookie Policy.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Consent: Where you have provided explicit consent (for example, by accepting non-essential cookies via the cookie consent banner), we process data on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: We process anonymised traffic data under a legitimate interest in understanding how readers engage with editorial content, provided that this interest does not override your rights and freedoms.
  • Contractual necessity: Where you submit a contact form, we process the data provided in order to respond to your inquiry.

4. How We Use Your Data

Data collected via the contact form is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to any mailing list or marketing system without your explicit consent.

Automatically collected traffic data is used in aggregate form to evaluate which articles receive the most engagement, to identify technical issues with the site, and to plan future editorial content. We do not use this data to build individual user profiles or to deliver targeted advertising.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Contact form data is retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. Traffic log data is retained in aggregate form and is not linked to individual identifiers beyond a rolling 90-day window.

Cookie preference data is stored in your browser for a maximum of 12 months from the date of your consent selection. After this period, the consent banner will re-appear and you will be asked to confirm your preferences again.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Indonesian personal data protection law, and where broader international frameworks apply, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • The right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.
  • The right to withdraw consent to data processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • The right to object to data processing where our stated basis is legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 14 business days.

7. Third-Party Services

This site embeds a Google Maps iframe on the Contact page to indicate the editorial office location. The Google Maps service is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google’s own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing that policy at policies.google.com if you have concerns about data handling by third-party map services.

This site may load fonts from Google Fonts. Font requests are made to Google’s servers and are subject to Google’s data handling practices. Fonts loaded via this route do not carry personally identifying cookies from our site.

We do not embed third-party advertising, affiliate tracking pixels, or social media widgets on this site.

8. Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Contact form data is transmitted using SSL/TLS encryption. We maintain reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

No internet-based data transfer can be assured to be entirely secure. While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot warrant absolute security.

9. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the site following a posted update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
